Esquire magazine

1. Target Audience Profile: The target audience is for adults 25-45. It would be most suitable for men who like to wear suits and like to wear good clothes. Men who read Esquire are probably rich and go to posh restaurants. They mostly wear suits. They go to posh hotels and holidays. Their favourite TV programmes would be the news and politics.
2. Masthead: Esquire is a posh word for gentleman and suggests high class. It is called Esquire because if James Franco wasn’t wearing a suit in the front cover, it would be called something else.
3. Main image: the main image is James Franco with a posh suit to show that this is a magazine for posh people. It makes him look serious. He is also holding a cup of coffee to show this is for adults.
4. Direct Mode Of Address: James Franco uses direct mode of address to show relationship with the reader and tries to say that you should read this magazine.
5. Layout: There is a lot of text to show that adults want to find out about much stuff and want to know about much stuff.
6. Secondary image: The secondary image is a little woman sitting on a coin which is much bigger than her. This shows that men are more powerful than women and probably that women are used as money (men are controlling them). Another secondary image is the gold money to show that Esquire magazines and people who read esquire are rich.
7. Sell lines: the SELL-LINES talk about suits and money to show this is for rich and posh people. It also says that 11 men died which is information so it shows that these people who read this magazine also like watching news.

Sugar Magazine

1. Target Audience Profile: The target audience is for teenage girls aged 12-15. This is for girls who like to look pretty. Girls who read Sugar, probably have boyfriends, wear nice clothes and they mostly wear dresses. Their favourite TV programmes would be Eastenders or Coronation Street.
2. Masthead: Sugar also means sweet like girls are sweet and loud. The masthead is big and bold, the colour is pink which is girl’s favourite colour and also shows that this is suitable for girls.
3. Main image: The main image is Miley Cyrus with nice clothes and looks pretty to show that if girls want to look pretty, this magazine is most suitable for them.
4. Direct Mode Of Address: Miley Cyrus uses direct mode of address and looks straight at the reader to show relationship with them and wants them to read this magazine by looking straight at them.
5. Secondary image: The secondary image is about nice clothes to show if you want nice clothes and want to look good, they should read this magazine.
6. SELL-LINES: The Sell-lines is about girls getting married at the age of 15 and kiss quizzes which shows that this magazine is girly and only suitable for girls who want to find out about these stuff.
