Planning the setting for my horror film

Location:
  • Stairs in school because we can let someone fall down the stairs while being attacked. they can be in the dark and it is easy to fall which makes it a higher chance of th charater dying. we can use low angle to show how the character is falling. we could use high angle to show the whole view of the character and the killer. the sairs could be used as a trap.
  • Lift because it is hard to escape from there and there is only one way out, lights off so it makes it harder for the person to see and escape. We could use high angle to show that the ligh is disappearing and so we could see all the characters and what is happening in the scene.
  • Classroom
  • outside

The Evaluation

The Evaluation

INTRO

In my horror movie my role was getting the right props and costumes, being the only left alive in the horror movie, editor. My background work was looking at other horror movies and take some ideas. I went on YouTube and saw videos on how to edit videos and make them better.

MAIN BIT

Horror genre makes the audience feel scared and this brings out primal fear. The conventions for my movie will be serial killer, blood, people fighting to survive, one man left. We looked at films like paranormal activity because the survivors can’t see the serial killer and he kills some of the survivors when the others have no idea of what’s going on. We also looked at ‘Scary Movie’ and got ideas from there because the victims know there is someone who wants to kill them and they have to do something to survive. I planned my design by talking to my crew and decide what to do before we start filming. We first did the scene without filming and then decide if it’s good enough for the film. We filmed each scene in different angles so we can add bits of each of the scenes in the films. At the beginning we were struggling to film because we didn’t have enough people with us but later on we got help from another group and they were in some of our scenes and they helped us with the filming. Overall the filming wasn’t really bad at all. Me and my group needed to work on getting the right costumes. We needed a lot of different costumes for different characters which would have made the film better because we were wearing our school uniform when filming and it could have looked better if we had scary costumes on. Some of the problems with the editing were that the scenes were a bit too long and we needed them in our scene so we couldn’t edit them.  Another problem with the editing was getting the right sounds for the scenes, we couldn’t think of good horror sounds to put in our film. We decided to search on YouTube and on iMovie sound effects for good sound tracks to put on our film.  We found some horror movies on YouTube which 7we thought would be good if we put them in our film.

CONCLUSION
The film is about two people who go to try and find survivors and survive. Some people manage to escape but others breathe their last! Overall I think the film went quite alright but we could have made it better if we had more members in our group. Our favourite shot was when the serial killer looked at the camera and then at the victims because it makes the audience feel like he is actually looking at them and that he will kill the victims. We tried braking horror conventions by making it a bit of comedy too like ‘Scary Movie’ but we couldn’t make it funny enough for our audience so we stuck with what we were doing. The social group was teenagers and they were represented as victims because they don’t usually have a lot of power and this is suitable for the target audience because they feel like they are in the victims position. We also used a teenager as the serial killer because it created a sinister effect amongst our audience because it would be hard to believe that another school mate could do that to someone else. My target audience was teenagers and I thought my film was successful reaching them because the social group was based on teenagers and therefore the target audience could imagine themselves as the survivors which will make them feel sorry for the victims. The main lessons I will take away for any future film making projects are filming the scene from different angles which would make it better for the audience to see what’s going on from different camera angles. Also even if I do a trailer I should film a lot of scenes to see which ones are the best to put in the trailer. Also one important thing before you start filming is planning and knowing what your film is about before you start filming otherwise it would look like a mess

Usually young teenagers like rap which this video has.

Example Profile: The typical teenager who likes to go out with friends and enjoy life the way it is.

Health and Safety

One of the most important things when making the music video is making sure we are safe.

When making the video we should:
  •  look out for people who might be a danger to us.
  • If it is raining the camera might stop working.
  • If we are filming in a road, we should be looking out for cars so we don't get hit by one.
  • Make sure we hold the camera tight so it wont drop if we are filming on the top of a building.

Location

  • Skateboard park
  • Oxford Streeet
  • Angle Street
  • Camden Street
we choose these places because they are crowded and are full of shops which links to the target audience which is the teenager because they like to go shopping in busy places.

Clothes

What we thought of wearing in our Music video is:
  • Polo shirt (Mohammad Al-Baaj)
  • T-Shirt (Both)
  • Jumper(Israel)
  • Trainers (Both)
  • Chinos (Israel)
  • Normal Jeans (Both
  • Jewellery (Not Sure)
  • Snap Hats (both)
We choose these because they can aspire the audience and thats what normal teenagers would normally wear.

This is set in New York because it has nice buildings and it will make the artist look better in these places instead of ugly ones. Tinie Tempah is wearing a nice jacket and nice trainers because he wants to look good. Some of the setting are sometimes rough because he goes to a small place and it is kind of dirty. That place is meant to be where he lived when he was little. The camera angle is low angle because it makes him look powerful and it looks as if he is bigger than the buildings.Whereas Eric Turner is in a bright and calm building, playing his piano. Eric Turne has a big beard which makes him look untidy. Tinie Tempah is wearing black glasses which makes him look cool.
This is filmed in a basketball court because america is famous for basketball. There are half naked girls in this music video to get the audiences attention. The camera angle is sometimes low angle to show that the artist is powerful. The camera shot is mostly long shot and then zoomes in at the artist. Sometimes it is high andgle to show everything the artist is wearing. He is wearing a t-shirt because it is a hot and sunny day. He goes to a disco where the lightning gets darker. He is wearing one of his best clothes because he wants to look good. At the party a lot of people are with him because he is trying to show that he has a lot of friends.

i like this video because it has a good story line and you know what is going on and what they are trying to say. I also like it because it is not only in one place, but many others.
